AdWords is an extremely powerful marketing tool but it can also be a colossal waste of money if not managed well. We’ve seen many businesses spend a small fortune over the years with very little conversion from their Adwords campaign, whilst others can experience significant sales growth by doing it right.
Here are some questions to ask before so you don’t end up wasting money on AdWords.
What do you want?
Do you want people to sign up for your newsletter? Do you want people to immediately purchase a product? Once you narrow down exactly what you want people to do once they reach your site through AdWords, make sure your landing page reflects that action.
Is your landing page usable?
As we mentioned above, your landing page needs to reflect the action you want potential customers to take. Additionally, it needs to be easy to take that action. If your website is not navigable, you will lose customers. People will move on to your competition if they can not find the information they need on your site.
Are you ready to analyse your campaign regularly?
Like any marketing campaign, you need to figure out what works and what is a mistake. Will you regularly check which keywords are working to convert clicks into customers? Or will you set up the campaign and simply hope for the best? If you use the keyword “orange,” you’ll get both people looking for fruit and people looking for paint. If you sell fruit, you need to avoid paint buyers. They are wasting your money. Take the time to refine your keyword selection. Your budget will go further.
Once you have taken the time to address these questions, you’ll be closer to starting your marketing campaign with confidence. Or, if you’d like some help setting up and managing a professional AdWords campaign, let us know.
